Assistance Dogs

At HF Holidays, we are dedicated to providing an enjoyable and relaxing holiday experience which includes a safe and welcoming environment for all our guests, employees, and visitors.

Please note, in finding a balance between the potential allergies and phobias of some guests and our legal obligations and aim for inclusivity, we are currently able to welcome Assistance Dogs at three of our country houses, located in the Brecon Beacons, Exmoor and the Shropshire Hills. At these properties, we have ensured there are adequate facilities to accommodate Assistance Dogs, both with dog-friendly guest rooms and outdoor spaces.

Please note, the communal indoor spaces at these three properties may however be limited. Please contact us for further details prior to your booking regarding the communal areas. Read more here.

While our dog-friendly guest rooms have outside access, you’ll need to bring extra towels for muddy paws. We ask that your dog is always kept on a lead in the grounds and not left alone in the room for lengthy periods. Please be mindful of other guests, some of whom may be allergic to your fur baby (or simply scared). 

Please note that an extra charge of £10 per night per dog applies (maximum two dogs per guest room).

Here are a few simple rules and regs: 

• Please bring your dog’s food and belongings, including bedding, bowls, towels, toys, treats, and poop bags. 
• Use the ‘Do not disturb’ sign on your door if leaving your dog alone for short periods of time in the guest room.  
• We’re so sorry, but dogs aren’t allowed in the main house or in public rooms or lounges. 
• You’re free to walk your dog around the grounds and beyond, but they’re not allowed to join us on guided walks. 
• Please keep your dog away from the furniture in your guest room.  
• Plan regular walks to avoid accidents in the room. If this happens, please let a member of the house team know. We reserve the right to charge extra for any additional room cleaning. 
• Please always keep your dog on a lead in our grounds and use the dog bins for waste. 
• Take care when approaching other dogs. Not every dog is as lovely as yours.
