We’ve measured our carbon footprint
We’re committed to reducing our impact on the planet and working towards a sustainable future. We measure our carbon footprint annually with sustainability experts, ecollective, to create a strategy to reduce the carbon intensity of our product by 5% each year.
Our ambition is to be net zero by 2040 – earlier if we can.
You deserve transparency
You deserve to know the impact of your holiday. That’s why we’ve measured our carbon emissions and why we’ve shared the total carbon footprint of each holiday. Almost everything has a carbon footprint - and we want to be transparent about ours.
What do the numbers mean?
Each of our holidays shows you a carbon footprint that is calculated on a per person per trip basis. This is the sum of all the included activities, accommodation, in-destination transportation, HF Holidays Leader, Tour Manager, and meals. As all holidays are different, the emissions per trip will vary depending on its type, inclusions, and the destination.
Know your impact
On average, in 2022 - 2023, our trips emitted 180kg CO2e per guest. We reduced our CO2e per guest by 11kg in the 12 months prior and have set ambitious targets to reduce this each and every year.

- Emissions from owning and operating our UK country houses
What’s next in our drive for change?
We’re on our way to Net Zero
Measuring our carbon footprint is the first step. But we’re not stopping here. Our aim is to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2040.
That’s why we are working with ecollective and our suppliers to measure and reduce our footprint. By making small but effective changes, we’re planning to reduce the carbon footprint of each holiday year on year at no cost to you. This will not compromise the quality of your holiday experience.
