(Well-behaved) dogs welcome

For some dog owners, it’s not a holiday unless you have your faithful four-legged friend in tow. With this in mind, we’re happy to welcome well-behaved dogs on self-guided walking holidays at three of our UK country houses.*

Given the stunning locations in Brecon Beacons, Exmoor, and the Shropshire Hills, there’s plenty to please your pooch: fresh air, lovely grounds to play in, miles of countryside to explore, and lots of exercise.

While our dog-friendly guest rooms have outside access, you’ll need to bring extra towels for muddy paws. We ask that your dog is always kept on a lead in the grounds and not left alone in the room for lengthy periods. Please be mindful of other guests, some of whom may be allergic to your fur baby (or simply scared). 

Please note that an extra charge of £10 per night per dog applies (maximum two dogs per guest room).

Here are a few simple rules and regs: 

• Please bring your dog’s food and belongings, including bedding, bowls, towels, toys, treats, and poop bags. 
• Use the ‘Do not disturb’ sign on your door if leaving your dog alone for short periods of time in the guest room.  
• We’re so sorry, but dogs aren’t allowed in the main house or in public rooms or lounges. 
• You’re free to walk your dog around the grounds and beyond, but they’re not allowed to join us on guided walks. 
• Please keep your dog away from the furniture in your guest room.  
• Plan regular walks to avoid accidents in the room. If this happens, please let a member of the house team know. We reserve the right to charge extra for any additional room cleaning. 
• Please always keep your dog on a lead in our grounds and use the dog bins for waste. 
• Take care when approaching other dogs. Not every dog is as lovely as yours.
